Homemade Sausage for Easter!

Now we have delicious recipes from http://www.guyfoodguy.com/ of the Guy Food Guy's Swedish Pancakes and smooth Strawberry Sorbet. Yum! But something's missing. Aha! Breakfast meat! Easter brunch will be complete with this final touch: homemade breakfast sausage!

Here's a link with tons of good sausage recipes. Patties are easier, since you don't need casings. It would be a fun family activity on Saturday to make sausage together . . . while the bunny is busy getting the baskets ready:

Swedish Pancakes: If You Like to Jiggle. . . .

Did you know cooking is a sport, too? The Italians get to throw pizza dough in the air to make the perfect round crust. The French know how to pound a mallet into meat to tenderize it just so.

Healthy Hot Dog Ph.D.

Did you know Americans eat seven billion hot dogs from Memorial Day to Labor Day? Whoa! And you thought your Cub Scout troop ate a lot!

If you like our Hot Diggities recipe on http://www.guyfoodguy.com/, here's some info on choosing the healthiest brand of hot dogs that you can:
  • Look for 6 grams of fat per serving or less, which is half as much fat as the usual hot dog;
  • Try to have less than 480 milligrams of sodium per serving
  • Avoid hot dogs that contain antibiotics and nitrites/nitrates
You can become a real hot dog on healthy hot dog knowledge on http://www.hearthealthyonline.com/healthy-recipes/cooking-nutrition-tips/heart-healthy-hotdogs_ss1.html

GUYS ARE OFTEN . . . HOT DOGS

The current http://www.guyfoodguy.com/ recipe, Hot Diggities, calls for cut-up hot dogs. That must be very offensive to these characters:

They are actually highly creative and totally edible concoctions, even though they look like hot dog men in a hot tub of chili! Yes, those dots of mustard are eyes. The one at left appears to be a female because she's wearing lipstick; at least, it's Tomato Red.

Here are more hot dog men. See what you think, and if your culinary creativity could ever . . . ketchup with these people:

Hot Diggities Great For Camping; What Else?

Our hot-dog sandwich recipe, Hot Diggities, posted on our brand-new website, http://www.guyfoodguy.com/, would be great as a make-ahead for a camping trip.

Make 'em, wrap 'em in foil, put 'em in the fridge 'til you leave, keep 'em in the cooler 'til you get there, heat 'em over the campfire, and voila!

With camping season upon us -- yay! -- what are some other camping foods that make you sing around the campfire?
